Shuffle forward - This is like doing a polka. You are doing 3 steps
going forward
keeping which ever foot you used first forward ahead of the other
foot. In other words,
doing a right, left, right forward would mean the
right foot is ahead all the time where
the left would only come up close to the
heel of the right foot then the right would again
step forward staying ahead of
the left. Doing a left, right, left forward naturally would
mean the left
stays out in front. These are also called triple steps.
Right Lindy - You are doing a shuffle to the right side by doing a right,
left, right quick

left foot and step slightly back at
an angle to put your left foot behind your
right foot taking weight on your left foot,
return your weight forward onto your
right foot
Left Lindy - You are doing a shuffle to the left side by doing a left,
right, left, quick step.

weight forward on to
your left foot
Right Kick Ball Change - Kick your right foot forward keeping it low to
the floor, step
down on the right foot, lift the left foot off the floor then

You should think of it as a kick, step,
step.
Left Kick Ball Change - Kick your left foot forward keeping it low to the
floor, step
down on the left foot, lift the right foot off the floor then

Pivot - A pivot consist of stepping forward on one foot and turning in
the opposite
direction. This means if you step forward on your right, you
turn to your left. If you step
forward on your left, you turn to your
right. To make it a pivot, the pivot foot does not
move. When you step forward on your right, your left is your pivot foot. When you
step
forward on your left, your right is your pivot foot. This can also be
called a military turn.
Rock Steps - This is when you step back or forward on a foot and put your
weight onto it
then recover your weight onto your opposite foot. The
opposite foot did not move at all in
the move.
Turning From A Rock Step - After you do a back rock step, if your
dance calls for a
turn, you will turn opposite from your rock step foot.
This means, if you rock back on your
right, you will do your turn to your left
and this most of the time is a triple step.
Turning From A Rock Step - After you do a forward rock step, if
your dance calls for
a turn, you will turn to the same side as your rock step
foot. This means, if your rock
forward on your right, you will do your
turn to your right and this most of the time is a
triple step.
Monerey Turns - There are 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, and full turns. They are
all basically the same
though. To do a right monerey turn, touch
your right toe out to the side, take your right
foot behind your left foot as
you turn to your right as far as the dance calls for 1/4, 1/2 etc.
Most
will be 1/2 turns. Then touch your left toe out to the left side then
bring your left foot
in an step on it next to your right foot. The left
monerey turn will start by touching the left
toe out to the left side, bring
the left behind your right foot as your turn your turn to the left,
touch your
right toe out to the right side, step your right foot next to your left.
