If by Dottie Cadden

If never I heard of cancer
You ask,  if never it entered me
Would I smile a bigger smile
How would my life now be

Does it make you someone different
Did it change the one that's you
No it showed that you will not give it up
You're a fighter through and through

You stand here a survivor (survivors please stand)
And around you, you see there's more
So grab their hand and hold on tight
As you walk out on the floor

The rest of us are looking
We see friends and family
And wonder how can we help them
What's the answer, what's the key.

Now are you someone who took care of
A cancer patient then or now
A treasure you are, a caregiver
A companion, a friend, a pal.

Come out and join those on the floor
As you have a common thread
That binds you tight,
Forever loved, for unselfish care you shed.

There's many hero's out there
We see them standing on our floor
I ask those that are sitting
To please join them and what's more

With you bring your love and strength
And pray we get an answer
It's simple and straight forward
Please God, send us a cure for cancer.

Let's dry our tears and celebrate
And stay out on the floor
And when they talk about us they'll say
And They Danced For A Cure
